In May, 2009, Chapin graduated with a BFA in Metalsmithing and Jewelry Design from Metropolitan State College of Denver. Chapin’s education was fully funded by scholarships. His senior thesis show was funded by the Nagel Award.
Louisville Art Association has been instrumental in supporting Chapin. He became an intern in 2004, and he was a Board Member 2008-2010. Currently Chapin is an active member.
After receiving his BFA he has worked for different jewelers in the Boulder area and continually develops his skills.
